Our
Story
Her Court was born from our founder’s own experience.
She searched for months for a women’s-only competition that wasn’t locked into 11am on a Thursday because, well, a girl's gotta work!! There was nothing. For three years she played almost exclusively against men. The few women and girls she did come across were often on their way out of the game: twelve-year-old girls already feeling defeated, women giving up because there was no pathway forward, and clubs that weren’t receptive to creating women’s competitions.
On top of that, many competitions required players to turn up at random courts at all hours of the day or night with no staff present; not always the safest or most welcoming environment for women and girls.
She knew she wasn’t alone. And instead of walking away, she decided to build something new.
Her Court’s vision is bold: to become the largest women’s tennis organisation in Australia. More than competitions, we want to create a place where women and girls of all ages can:
Learn about nutrition and exercise tailored to the female body.
Build community and networks that last beyond the court.
Progress in their skills in a safe and supportive environment.
That’s why Her Court exists — not just to fill courts, but to transform them into places where women and girls can belong and flourish.

WHY WE EXIST
Too many girls step away from tennis early, before they’ve had the chance to grow in the game. Too many women are left without opportunities to play, or simply can’t find a competition that works for them. The result is courts that are missing the energy and talent of the very players who should be shaping the future of the sport.
Her Court was created to change that. We’re here to invite women and girls back into tennis, to create spaces where they feel welcome, supported, and inspired to keep playing - and to discover just how far the game can take them.
